Margaret H. Mattern

Margaret H. Mattern, 86, of Bremen

passed away March 22, 2009 at Community Hospital of Bremen. She was born on November 14, 1922 in Illinois to the lae Alfred and Magnalena (Brick) Specht. Margaret married Theodore Mattern who preceded her on June 8, 1998.

Formerly of Crown Point, she moved back to the family farm in Bremen in 1956. She was homemaker

and was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church for over 50 years. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She liked reading and crocheting and she helped Theodore on the farm. They were married 50 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy (Skip) Sherk, Bremen, Jo Mattern, New York City, a sister, Dorothy (Fred) Slovinsky, Wisconsin; a brother Joe Specht, Indiana.

She was preceded by her parents, husband, 4 sisters and 2 brothers

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 24, 2009 from 4-8 PM at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.

Service will be private.

Memorials may be given to the Bremen Food Pantry or Community Hospital of Bremen
