Stanley R. Hollar, 78, of Milford passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, October 20, 2020 in Fort Wayne. Stan was born October 13, 1942 in Warsaw, one of two sons, to Ernest and Marie (Irvine) Hollar. He married Sandra (Beer) Frantz on July 31, 1992; she survives.
Born and raised in Kosciusko County, Stan graduated from Milford High School where his highlight was taking First Place at the State Drum Contest. He was drummer for the band Twistin’ Tornadoes for a short time. Stan was a member of the Indiana National Guard and served as a volunteer fireman in Milford for a few years. He was a hard and dedicated worker throughout his life. He worked at the State Highway Department, Phend and Brown and CTB Inc. before retiring from the Kosciusko County Highway Department all while working on the family farm. Stan enjoyed tinkering on just about anything and restored a 1941 John Deer H tractor and a Cushman Eagle, just to name a couple. He was always willing to lend a hand and help family and friends whenever they needed anything.
Stan was a man of faith and was a member of the Nappanee Missionary Church where he was actively involved with Revive Indiana. Known as a quiet and humble man, Stan loved this ministry and was excited to strike up conversations with complete strangers, share his testimony, the Gospel and pray with them. Most of all, he loved his family well. He was a devoted father, raising his children during difficult times, teaching them the meaning of hard work. He was a loving husband, caring for his wife Sandy throughout their marriage and loved spending time with his grandchildren. A life well lived, Stan will be missed and cherished by many.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 28 years, Sandy; children, Tami (Kevin) Brechner of Fishers, Julie (Dan) Wuthrich of New Paris, Mitch (Jaime) Hollar of Milford, Scott (Marisa) Frantz of Oregon and Sara (Buddy) Olson of New Hampshire; seventeen grandchildren, the Brechners, Taylor, Carley, Carson, Libby, Mia and Ava; the Wuthrich’s, Matthew and Lauren; the Hollars, Logan, Braxton, Adrianne; the Frantz’s, Emma, Leah, and Ruby and the Olsons, Oscar Oliver and Lewie and his brother Rodney Hollar of Milford.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren, Brendon Wuthrich and Camden Brechner.
At this time, services will be private. The family is planning a celebration of Stan’s life to be held in the near future. They would like to thank everyone for their prayers, care and support during this difficult time.
The family has requested that donations be sent to: Time to Revive, PO Box 835943, Richardson, Texas 75083 in his memory.
Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center is honored that the family has entrusted them with Stan’s care.
