Robert James "Holly" Holloway

Robert “Holly” James Holloway, age 69, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at his home on Barbee Lake. He was born on April 26, 1949 the son of James Robert and Fawn (Grubbs) Holloway. On October 24, 1998, he married the woman he called his bride until the day he died, Janette “Jane” Zimmerman.

In addition to Jane, Holly is survived by five children, Steven Holloway of Niles, MI, Trish Holloway of Mishawaka, IN, Holly (Keldon) Arjoonsingh of Wylie, TX, Dr. Joshua (Krista) Bess of Seattle, WA, and Stephanie (Paul) Ulrich of Larwill, IN; sixteen grandchildren; two siblings, Linda (Les) Grove of Rochester, IN and Rick (Diane) Holloway of Orlando, FL; a special niece Lauren Holloway; and his best friend, Mike Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Holly was an unforgettable man. He loved his family and friends with all he had and left no good deed undone. Holly graduated from Argos High School and retired from RR Donnelley after 39 and 1/2 years of dedicated service. He loved to socialize and was a member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster, the VFW, the Eagles, and the Moose Lodge. Holly loved to host a good fish fry with his bride, play pool, shoot his handmade darts, sing karaoke, dance, and even fish a little… or a lot. He also had a not so hidden wood working talent and enjoyed making oak cabinets for his bride’s storage needs.

A celebration of Holly’s life will begin at 5 PM on Saturday September 1, 2018 at Forest Ridge Family Campground, 5000 North Elder Road, Larwill, IN 46764. In keeping with Holly’s wishes, a cremation committal will take place with Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
