Ned Alan Hunsberger, 58, passed away peacefully from health complications on Thursday June 25, 2026, at Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Born in Goshen, Indiana on October 20, 1967, Ned was the son of Norman (Eunice) and Nancy (Yocum) Hunsberger. He graduated from Wawasee High School with the class of 1986. He would go on to attend Northwestern University and become a certified mechanic.

On October 28, 1989, Ned married Teffinie (Wallace) in Winona Lake, Indiana. They would welcome three children and enjoy 19 years of marriage. Even through divorce and other marriages, they remained friends and kept their kids at the center of their lives.

Ned worked as a mechanic for Maple Leaf Farms, Ruch Service and Jake Service, all in Milford. He then worked in the maintenance department for RV industries until he had to step down due to health issues. Ned volunteered for over 20 years on the Milford Fire Department and held various office positions: Secretary, Assistant Chief and Chief.

He was quiet and kept to himself but had quite a comedic side. Not one to show feelings, Ned made sad or uncomfortable situations funny with a joke or action. He loved his grandchildren and being with his family all he could. He attended Nappanee Missionary Church. Ned was huge into mudding with his trucks and 4-wheelers. He never missed a NASCAR race and was a fan of the Steelers. Ned could be found most often tinkering in the garage with anything and everything.

Ned is missed by his children: Amber “Sunshine” (Matthew) Wood of Albion, Megan “Sweetie” (Corey) Hill of Elkhart and Richard “Son” (Krista) Hunsberger of Syracuse; his father, Norman (Eunice) Hunsberger of Milford; 3 grandchildren: Richard “Ayden”, Hallie and Ainsley; brother, Nick (Phyllis) Hunsberger of Milford; niece, Amanda (Chris) Herr and nephew, Nick Charles Hunsberger II as well as great nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother Nancy in 1977; his grandparents; an aunt and an uncle.

Per his wishes, cremation will take place and he will be laid to rest in the Milford Cemetery. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date and the obituary will be updated at that time.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Milford Fire Department.
