Mary Louise Wolford

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Louise Wolford of Leesburg, Indiana.

Mary was born Mary Louise Hummel on October 4, 1926 in St. Joseph County, Indiana, and married Joseph Grant Wolford in 1947.  She retired from the Kosciusko County Courthouse in 1996 after many years.

She enjoyed playing cards regularly with friends, including rummy and hearts (and especially by her own set of rules). She liked to take trips with her cousin Alice and go antiquing.  Above all, she had a fierce love of family, and cherished time with her granddaughters especially.

Mary had a very strong spirit and lived alone on her acreage for decades, mowing the grass on her property herself well into old age.

She is preceded in death by siblings Helen and James, as well as her husband, Joseph.  She is survived by her son Joe and granddaughters Rebekah, Rachel, Elizabeth, Hannah, and Sarah, as well as five great-grandchildren. A celebration of Mary's life will be held at Mishler Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 461 W 900 N, Milford, IN 46542 on Saturday. April 1, 2023 at 3pm. Burial will follow at Milford Cemetery. Family and friends will be received from 2-3 pm prior to the service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be given in Mary's honor to the charity of the donor's choice.
