Leatha “Clariece” Stump, 95, peacefully passed away at Waterford Crossing, in Goshen, on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
Born in Milford, Indiana on February 24, 1930, Clariece was the daughter of Walter and Leatha (Tusing) Kasper. She graduated from Milford High School in 1948. She attended 2 years of Beauty School after her graduation from High School.
On November 23, 1952, in Milford, Clariece married Herbert Stump and shared 54 wonderful years of love, laughter and memories before his passing. She dedicated 11 years to running her own beauty shop, where she brought confidence and joy to many, and was in the records department for NIPSCO for 23 years before she retired.
Clariece was a faithful member of the Milford First Brethren Church. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and loved being in a bowling league for 25 years. Traveling was what she and Herb enjoyed doing. In her retirement, playing cards was her passion with her friends in Lakeland, FL, and friends at Heritage House.
She is dearly missed by her children: Timothy (Carolyn) Stump of Noblesville, Terry (Shelly) Stump of Syracuse, Teresa (Todd) Barrows of Nappanee and Tracy (Rick) Miller of Shipshewana; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Clariece was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Doris Hamilton; 2 sisters-in-laws; and 3 brothers-in-law.
A viewing for Clariece will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at Mishler Funeral Homes and Cremation Center, 461 W 900 N, Milford, IN 46542, followed by a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the New Paris Cemetery, New Paris.
