Kathryn E. "Kate" Doty

Kathryn E. “Kate” (Yoder) Doty, 91, of Milford, IN passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Lake City Place in Warsaw, IN. She was born on September 10, 1929 the daughter of Pete and Edna Yoder in Oklahoma. On March 5, 1949, she married Harry D. “Towhead” Doty at Milford Bethel Church of the Brethren; he preceded her in death on July 28, 2018.

Kate moved to the area in 1944 and graduated from Milford High School in 1948. She was a licensed veterinarian technician and assisted with many surgeries while working with Dr. Jay Zehr at Milford Small Animal Clinic. She was also a real-estate agent for Beer Realtors prior to retirement. Kate loved horses, trail riding and was very active in 4H for years. She was also a member of Wawasee Community Bible Church.

Kate is survived by a son, Kent (Christy) Doty of Milford; daughters, Peg (John) Leighty of Fishers, and Janny Doty of Syracuse; 5 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Marjorie (Ray) Mast of Kouts, IN, Bobbi (Del) Sack of Belfair, WA, Donna Addleman of Lakeland, FL and Pat (Kerry) Boggs of Milford, IN; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Yoder.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Floyd Yoder.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Mishler Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 461 W 900 N, Milford, IN 46542. Pastor Josh Weiland will officiate. Burial will follow at Milford Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. The family is requesting that masks be worn by anyone attending the visitation or service.
