John Michael Tobin

John Michael Tobin, age 88, of Dewart Lake, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Parkview Regional Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born on October 4, 1935, the son of Ted T. & Elizabeth (McKee) Tobin. On April 20, 1959, he married Fukiko Ogata in Japan; she preceded him in death in 2004.

John graduated from Milford High School in 1953 and attended Purdue University before entering the United States Air Force. He retired from the Air Force as a Tech Sergeant in 1975. After being stationed around the world, he returned home with his family to Dewart Lake. Before officially retiring from Chore-Time in Milford he worked for Sea Nymph boats in Syracuse for many years. John enjoyed being outdoors, working in his garden, and being on the lake. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting in his younger years.

John is survived by his children, Ted T. Tobin and Lori Lee Tobin, both of Dewart Lake.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 45 years, Fukiko Tobin; and his sister, Patricia Coppes.

In keeping with his wishes no public visitation or services are planned at this time. John will be laid to rest with his wife, Fukiko at a later date.
