John Morehead Sr.

John Morehead Sr, 62, of Milford, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, January 9, 2022, at his home. John was born March 15, 1959, in Columbia City to Joseph Morehead, Sr, and June Irene Bowers. He married Sally Moody on March 3, 1979; she survives.

John lived life to the fullest. He always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Whether it was zip lining, canoeing or riding mules down the trails of the Grand Canyon, he was always up for the next adventure.  Known as a “horse whisperer”, John could train any horse. He was an avid rider and even participated in bull riding. John was a helper, a jack of all trades and was willing to help anyone he could. He was a huge Donald Trump supporter. He had a great sense of humor and loved joking around. Nothing was more important to John than his family, whom he loved and cherished.

John is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sally, two children, John (Mindy) Morehead, Jr of Milford, Brent Conley of Milford; five grandchildren, Jasmine, Abby, Cory, Cole and Kendra and one great granddaughter, Ella. John loved his family dearly.

Also surviving are two brothers, Joe (Jane) Morehead, Jr, Milford, Jay (Vickie) Morehead, Sr, Leesburg; four sisters, Donna Plummer, Warsaw, Jane Weise, Syracuse, Shirley (Julian) Islas, Larwill and Susan (Bill) Gerrity, Sr, Syracuse.

Visitation will be Friday, January 14, 2022, from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Milford. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow.

Memorial donations may be given to the family.
