Jeffery D. Howey

Jeffery D. Howey, age 42, of Wakarusa, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at home. He was born on February 19, 1981 the son of Victor and Carolyn (Hall) Howey in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He is survived by his life partner, Domitila Vaca of Wakarusa, IN; eight children, Victor, Nicholas, Delilah, Alejandra, Sophia, Trever, Logan, and Letti; parents, Victor and Carolyn Howey of Pierceton, IN; three siblings, Jayson Howey of Pierceton, Joshua (Skyler) Howey of Goshen, IN, and Elma (Dustin) Heileman of North Webster, Indiana; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Jeffery was known as “Howey” most of his life and graduated from Wawasee High School in 1999. He went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army and was stationed in Kuwait. Howey had an incredible sense of humor and would make you laugh without even trying. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and keeping things clean like any military guy would. Most importantly, Howey was a loving son, father, companion, brother, and friend.

A funeral service will be held in Howey’s honor at 5 pm on Sunday at Mishler Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 461 W 900 N, Milford, IN 46542. Rev. Israel Perez will officiate.

Family and friends will be received from 3 to 5 pm prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place following the service.
