Glennis E. Stump

Glennis E. Stump, age 95, of Milford, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Kosciusko Community Hospital. She was born September 12, 1926, to Amos and Mary (Gardner) Orn in Clunette. On June 17, 1944, Glennis married Dale R. Stump. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2016.

Glennis was a longtime member of the Milford Christian Church and was very active in the American Legion Post 226 Auxiliary. She owned and operated her own nursing home, Orn Nursing Home for 20 years before becoming the first administrator for Lakeland Loving Care when they opened in Milford. She was an avid card and board game player; she enjoyed mushroom hunting, camping and spending the Winters in Florida. She cherished family and loved them dearly.

Glennis is survived by four grandchildren, Danielle Stump, Dale Stump III, David (Tammi) Stump and Doug Stump; six great grandchildren, Dylan Stump, Alexis Stump, Wency Jackson, Michaela Stump, Michael Stump, DJ Stump and a great-great grandson, Atlas Stump. Also surviving is a brother, William (Marge) Orn of Kokomo, a sister-in-law, Lila Orn of Arizona, daughter-in-law Natalie Stump of Milford and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale, three sons, Dale “Rick” Stump, Dennis Stump, Stanley Stump and a daughter-in-law Betty Stump.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 461 West 900 North, Milford. Pastor Steve Wilson will officiate the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will follow the service with burial in Milford Cemetery at a later date.
