In Loving Memory of George "Dick" Richard Casto
May 30, 1944 – July 30, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of George "Dick" Richard Casto on July 30, 2025, in Alva, Florida, after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 81.
Born on May 30, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, Dick’s life was marked by steadfast dedication, an unshakable work ethic, and a joyful spirit that brightened every room he entered. He married the love of his life, Connie, on August 2, 1975, beginning a cherished partnership that lasted a lifetime. From a young age, he lived with an uncommon drive, channeling his ambition and leadership into thriving careers as both an auto dealer and a farmer—industries that reflected his entrepreneurial heart and deep connection to the land and community.
But it wasn’t only in profession where Dick excelled. He was a man of many passions and boundless energy—whether the love he had for horses, revving up a motorcycle, or cutting through the water in his beloved boat, he embraced life with enthusiasm and a contagious zest. Yet, for all the adventures he pursued, his greatest joy was always found in serving others.
A man of deep and abiding faith, Dick devoted himself wholeheartedly to his church, where he served as a deacon, elder, and life group leader. As a Gideon, he shared hope and Scripture with conviction and kindness, often inspiring the hearts of young people whom he took great joy in mentoring. He was also a longtime volunteer firefighter and a passionate supporter of 4-H, always finding ways to give back to the communities he loved.
Dick's legacy is not only in the roles he played but in the lives he touched. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, a loyal friend, and a steadfast servant of God. He is survived by his beloved wife, Connie; three sons, Randy Jessop, Rodney Jessop, and James (Beth) Dunn; four grandchildren, Cassidy (Pierce) Roe, Van Jessop, Dylan Jessop and Amber Dunn; and great grandson, Levi Roe, who carry forward his strength, his spirit, and his love.
A graveside interment will be held at Milford Cemetery, surrounded by those who knew and cherished him.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to be made to the Fort Myers Evangelical Free Church, 6798 Plantation Pines Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33966, the Alzheimer’s Association, 2828 SW 22nd St., Miami, FL 33145, or to Reach Global, 1345 Monroe Ave. NW., Grand Rapids, MI 49505.
