The family of Charles “Chuck” Dippon, 56, of Syracuse, are saddened to announce his unexpected passing on Thursday September 17, 2026.
Born in Goshen, Indiana on July 26, 1970, he was the son of Jeffrey Dippon and Kathleen (Searfoss) Goodyear. He graduated from Wawasee High School with the class of 1988. Soon after high school, Chuck enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1989, serving as a tank commander and driver, and was Honorably Discharged in 2001.
He was currently working for Bill’s Heating and Cooling as a general manager. Chuck was a teacher, board member, supporter and friend to many for PHCC (Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors) North Central; teaching a plumbing class on Tuesday nights. He was a leader in the community and had an intense, loving personality. Students, past and present, might tell you stories of how his passion in teaching impacted their lives. Chuck wanted to make sure the next generation was mentored and dedicated in trade skills, to further shape the trade’s future as experts. The community, school and students feel this huge loss but are forever grateful for his years of leadership and friendship.
Charles is survived by his children: Evan Dippon, Emma Dippon (fiancé Spencer Davidson), Hunter Dippon and Austin (Ashley) Young; his parents; his sister, Crista (Jason) Garman; his brother, Zach (Chelsea) Goodyear; his significant other, Jan Brooks; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brother Chad Dippon on August 8, 2026.
