Kevin John Haines, 55, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer at IU Goshen Health. He was born January 18, 1962 to John E. Haines and Linda Irene Haines Ray in Goshen.
Kevin graduated from Wawasee High School and worked for many years in maintenance for Chore Time Brock. Kevin was industrious and felt that a good work ethic was essential in life. He most recently was employed with Forest River in shipping.
As much as Kevin was a hard worker, he also enjoyed some play time. He could often be found in the garage tinkering on anything with a motor. He enjoyed riding motorcycle, four wheeling, off-roading, and snowmobiling. He was also a huge fan of NASCAR, since the very beginning, before NASCAR was even popular. Kevin’s prized possession was one of his first rides – a blue ’69 Z28 Chevy Camaro. He was a lifetime member of the Riders Motorcycle Club of New Paris and a member of the American Motorcycle Association.
Kevin thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family and frequently hosted gatherings in his home with plenty of food to feed everyone. His granddaughters also held a very special place in his life and he always had some little gift to hand them.
Kevin is survived by his two children, Brandi (Troy) Warstler and Brett (companion, Melanie) Haines, both of Milford; two beloved granddaughters, Megan Warstler of Milford and Audrina Haines of Florence, KY; a sister, Tammy (Jim) Kraft of New Paris; a step mother, Ruth Haines of Leesburg; and a nephew, Logan Kraft of New Paris.
A memorial service will be held at 5 PM on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the K21 Cancer Care Fund, K21 Health Foundation, PO Box 1810, Warsaw, Indiana, 46581.
