June K Kinney

June K. Kinney, 73, of Milford passed away Monday, June 5, 2017 at IU Goshen Health in Goshen. She was born to Kenneth and Opal Nicolai on June 18, 1943 in Syracuse. She graduated from Syracuse High School. In 1987, she married Donald Kinney in Milford.

June worked off and on as a waitress at the 6 & 15 diner since the 60s. She was a social butterfly and really enjoyed working with people. June loved her two dogs, Susie and Star, and spending time outside on the porch with a view of her roses. She also liked to read and sew. June was a member of the Solomon’s Creek United Methodist Church and the American Legion Ladies’ Auxiliary in Syracuse.

June is survived by her husband, Don Kinney; a daughter, Dawn Sheets; four step children, Cindy (Doug) Scott, Donald (Chris) Kinney, Jr., Kevin (Janet) Kinney, and Cathy (Michael) Hawkins; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and five siblings, Gene Nicolai, Donna Borkholder, Stanley Nicolai, Lowell Nicolai, and Betty Hostetler.

She was preceded in death by a step son, Robert Scott Kinney.

A funeral service will be held at 6 PM on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Milford. June will be laid to rest at Solomon’s Creek Cemetery in New Paris.

Friends and family will be received from 2-6 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
