Evar D. Troup

Evar D. Troup, 82, of Milford passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 10:27 AM at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. He was born May 23, 1934 in Nappanee and four years later moved to Milford. Evar was the son of Alton and Dessie Troup. On October 24, 1953 he married Mary Ellen Bray; she survives.

Evar and Mary Ellen lived most of their lives in Milford. He was a member of the Milford Christian Church and the American Legion, Post 0226. Evar also honorably served in the US Navy Reserve in the 60s.

Evar is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Ellen Troup; a daughter, Kathy (Tony) McDowell of Milford; three sons, David (Deb) Troup of Ligonier, Steven (Mary) Troup of Milford, and Tom Troup of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a sister, Shelly Troup of Long Beach, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Milford Christian Church with Pastor Stephen Leininger officiating. Burial will follow at Milford Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Milford and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be given to Milford Christian Church or Milford Emergency Services.
