Stephen Thurlow Conrad II, 32, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away unexpectedly, together with his mother, on December 25, 2016 as the result of an automobile accident. He was born on October 11, 1984 to Stephen and Kimberly Conrad in Elkhart. Stephen grew up in Syracuse and was a graduate of Wawasee High School where he played golf and basketball. He continued to play golf at the collegiate level at NOVA Southeastern and Johnson & Wales. His love for the game and his skill on the course served him well in 2012 when he won Champion of the Indiana Golf Tournament, and again in 2015, when he was inducted into the Indiana High School Golf Hall of Fame and when he and his brothers won the Alice Cooper Rock 'N Roll Golf Classic in Phoenix, AZ. Stephen also enjoyed good movies and basketball. Stephen will be missed by his father, Steve Conrad; brothers, Michael (Katie) Conrad, Jeffery Conrad; a niece, Kendall Conrad; grandmother, Ruth Webster; grandfather, Kenneth Webster (Daret Matthews); and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.A celebration of Stephen's life will be held at 6 PM on Wednesday, January 4, 2016, at Wawasee High School gymnasium in Syracuse. Pastor Tom Speicher will officiate. A private family burial will take place. Friends and family will be received from 1-5 PM on Wednesday at Wawasee High School. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Kimberly and Stephen Conrad II Scholarship Fund, c/o Lake City Bank 502 S Huntington St. Syracuse, IN 46567. Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center is assisting with arrangements.
