Dale R. Stump

Dale R. Stump, 91, of Milford passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Milford. Dale was born on October 27, 1925 to Clayton and Hazel (Defreese) Stump in Nappanee. He graduated from Milford High School with the class of 1943 and went on to honorably serve his country in the US Navy. Dale married Glennis Orn on June 17, 1944 in San Jose, California. He was a retired carpenter and mason and a lifetime member of the American Legion in Milford.

Dale will be missed by his wife of 72 years, Glennis Stump of Milford; a son, Stanley O (Natalie) Stump of Milford; ten grandchildren, Danielle Stump, Dale Stump III, Dylan Stump, Alexis Stump, Wency Jackson, Michaela Stump, Michael Stump, DJ Stump, David (Tammy) Stump, and Doug Stump; three nephews, Rodney (Mary Beth) Stump, Mark (Rhonda) Stump, and Clark (Kay) Stump; and a niece, Judy (John) Kurtz.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Dale “Rick” Stump Jr. and Dennis Stump; a daughter-in-law, Betty Stump; and a brother, Donald Stump.

A funeral service with military honors will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Milford.

Friends and family may call from 11-1 PM before the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
