Cyrus Ray Mcallister Iii

Cyrus Ray McAllister III, age 70, of Milford, IN, passed away at home on Saturday, November 12, 2016. He was born on October 7, 1946 in Minneapolis, MN the son of Cyrus Ray McAllister II and Phyllis Leach. On October 18, 1969 he married Loretta Laughlin; she survives.

Also surviving is his beloved daughter, Christine (Michael) Carney of Warsaw, IN; two grandchildren, Michael McAllister of Milford, IN, and Danielle Carney of Warsaw, IN; a brother, Mark (Debbie) Hutchinson of St. Louis Park, MN; and a sister, Sherri (Larry) McAllister of Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyrus Ray McAllister II and Phyllis (Leach) Hutchinson.

Cyrus graduated from High School in Bloomington, MN in 1964 and went onto to attend college. He was drafted out of college in 1967 and eventually retired from the United States Army as a 1st Sergeant and a sharpshooter after twenty-three years of dedicated service to his country. Cyrus was very patriotic and a very dedicated family man that always believed in putting his family first. He was also very talented with computers and passed that skill on to his grandchildren.

A memorial service in Cyrus’ honor will be held on November 19, 2016 at 2 PM at Mishler Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 461 W 900 N, Milford, IN 46542. Pastor Nathan Metler will officiate and military honors will be conducted following the service at the funeral home. Internment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
