Lorene F. Stookey

Lorene F. (Lehman) Stookey, age 89, of Leesburg, IN., left Kosciusko Community Hospital to be with The Lord on Thursday evening, November 3, 2016. She was born on June 16, 1927 the daughter of George Leroy and Christine (Kammerer) Lehman in Kosciusko County. Lorene graduated from Leesburg High school the same year as her husband to be, Martin E. Stookey and they were joined together in holy matrimony on May 29, 1948. She was a member of Milford Apostolic Church and retired from the Kosciusko ASCS Office in Warsaw, IN.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Martin E. Stookey of Leesburg, IN.; two sons, Martin E. “Butch” (Kathleen) Stookey Jr., and Randy (Marlene) Stookey, both of Warsaw; seven grandchildren, Laurie (David) Miller of Fort Wayne, IN., Rhonda (Bill Cary) Stookey, Jeffrey (Katja) Stookey of Hershey, PA., Bobi Stookey of Fort Wayne, IN.,  Zachary (Steffanie) Stookey of North Webster, IN., Jeremy (Samantha) Stookey of Syracuse, IN., and Justin Stookey of Warsaw, IN.; fifteen great-grandchildren, Cody, Brittany, Stephon, Ashton, Nicolas, Allison, Lydia, Drake, Emily, Rylan, Scott, Emileah, Meghan, and Lauren; along with three siblings, Edna Lehman of Warsaw, IN.,  Leroy Lehman of Milford, IN., and Howard Lehman of Fort Meyers, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Helen Roberts.

A funeral service in Lorene’s honor will be held at 10 AM at Milford Apostolic Church, 201 N Higbee Street, Milford, IN 46542 on Monday November 7, 2016. Pastor Randy Beer will officiate. Burial will follow at Leesburg Cemetery in Leesburg, IN.

Family and friends will be received from 2-6 PM on Sunday November 6, 2016 at Mishler Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 461 W 900 N, Milford, IN. 46542.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Milford Apostolic Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
