Bonnie Lou Newman, 83, of Milford, went to be with the Lord at 10:42 AM on May 26, 2016 at Elkhart Hospice House. She was born on November 21, 1932 on the family farm west of Cromwell to Riley “Pete” Edward and Mary Fredonna (Green) Conner. On June 19, 1951, she married Arthur Leon Newman in Cromwell.
She graduated from Cromwell High School with the class of 1950. In her lifetime, she enjoyed being a mother and homemaker. She worked for United Telephone and was a realtor. She enjoyed bowling, playing golf, gardening, cross stitching, crafts, reading, genealogy, traveling, and playing bridge. She also enjoyed spending twenty one winters in Texas. She was a member of the Milford United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Noble County Genealogy Society.
Bonnie is survived by her husband of 64 years, Arthur Leon Newman of Milford; a son, Anthony “Tony” (Paula) Newman and a daughter, Andrea Newman; five beloved granddaughters, Megan (Jason) Weaver, Sarah Beth (Tim) Cash, Angela (Mike) Deak, Rachel (Adam) Schaff, and Erin (Jordan) Keil; three beloved great granddaughters, Audra Mae Waver, Caraline Grace Deak, and Abigail Kathleen Cash; three more great granddaughters due this fall; a half brother, Russel (Myrna Kay) Earnhart; and a sister-in-law, Donna Conner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Edward Conner and Arnold Conner; and two sisters, Mary Emogene (Bill) Kline and Freida Mae Scott.
A celebration of life will be held on at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church or the Milford Public Library.
