Alejandro Lozano

October 8, 1934 — March 10, 2016

Alejandro L. Lozano, 81, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Milford, entered into eternal rest with the Lord on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Coventry Meadows in Fort Wayne. He was born on October 8, 1934 in Edcouch, Texas to Jose Angel and Ramona Linares Lozano as one of twelve children. Alex served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1958 aboard the U.S.S. Orion. On April 17, 1959, he married Maria Soccorro Flores. Later that year, Alex and Maria moved to Milford, Indiana, where they raised their five children.
Alex retired from the Dalton Foundry as an electrician in 1998, and he was a proud member of the United Steel Workers of America. Alex and Maria were also parishioners of St. Martin De Porres in Syracuse, Indiana for 30 years.
Alex will be missed by his wife of 57 years, Maria Lozano and his five children, Diana Smith, Rocky Lozano, Sandra Darr, Alex Lozano, and Ericka Lozano-Buhl, as well as, 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are six siblings, Nick Lozano, Mike Lozano, Beatrice Vasquez, Francis Ruiz, Eva Noriega, and Connie Galvan.
A mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 14, 2016 at St. Martin De Porres in Syracuse. Father Richard Hire will officiate with a luncheon to follow. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco, Texas.
Friends may call from 3-5 PM on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Milford.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
