Dorothy “Dot” Evelyn Meck, 97, of Warsaw passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at her home. She was born to Thomas Bogart and Lucy Culp on October 29, 1917 in Petoskey, Michigan. Dorothy was raised in and around Flint, Michigan and attended high school there. In 1938, she moved to Indiana and raised her five children. Dorothy was very involved in the American Legion in Warsaw and served as the VFW Ladies Auxiliary President. She enjoyed taking pontoon rides on the Chain-of-Lakes and dancing with love of her life, Joe Powers. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed a good card game, especially euchre. Dorothy will be remembered as a great mother and a phenomenal cook.
Dorothy is survived by four children, Patrick (Peggy) Meck of Pierceton, Alan (Chris) Meck of Pierceton, Cheryl (James) Moneyheffer of Leesburg, and Darrell Meck of Leesburg; twelve grandchildren, Kurtis(Karen) Meck, Brian (Kris) Meck, Angel (Alan) Blakely, Jason Meck, Justin Moneyheffer, Jamie Moneyheffer, Cory Moneyheffer, Caleb Moneyheffer, Joshua Goble, Zach Meck, Cassie Meck, and Matthew Meck; five great-grandchildren, Andrew Meck, Colin Meck, Jaden Moneyheffer, Miranda Moneyheffer, and Hali Moneyheffer-Wilson; and one great-great grandchild, Jackson Meck; and one sister, Patty Buzzitta of Grand Rapids.
She was preceded in death by a son, Tim Meck, and five brothers and one sister.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Mishler Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Milford.
Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Kosciusko County Animal Welfare League.
