Barbara J. Windham

November 1, 1936 — June 10, 2015

Barbara Jean (Annis) Windham would like her friends and family to know that her work here on earth was completed on June 10, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas. She began her assignment November 1, 1936 born to Ernest and Lillie Annis. She was a sister to Virginia (Annis) Leeper (Richard), and an aunt to Jim Leeper, Connie Leeper, and Karen Gaalema. She grew up and lived her life in Bremen, Indiana. She married her high school sweetheart John M. Windham and celebrated 60 years together. He preceded her in death on December 28, 2014. She had two children Cindy K. Leanhart (Windham) (Jack) and Stephen J. Windham (who also preceded her in death). She has six grandchildren; Jamie Yoder, Ryan Yoder, Danielle Castro, Gabrielle (Castro) Fonua (Elone), Jessica (Castro) Thomas (Todd), and David Castro (Jalene). Sixteen great grandchildren; Ashlee, Taylor, Gavin, and Layne Yoder, Mason and Madison Merchant, D.C., Ellie, Alma, Viola, and E. John Charles Fonua, Emma and Lillie Thomas, Rylan, Brantley and Bentley Castro and one great-great granddaughter; Kassidy Green. She was a sister-in-law to Ron and Mary Ellen Windham and a daughter-in-law to Mary Alice Windham.

Barbara received "THE CALL" late on Wednesday evening; it was an offer she couldn't refuse, for an appointment from which she would not be returning. The new assignment comes with amazing benefits. She receives a new custom home, without a mortgage. All you can eat delicious food where she will never gain an ounce, along with a garden that she never has to weed. She will be reading to her hearts content, taking long walks, and listening to Mario Lanza. Her lopsided white cakes will always come out perfectly, and her cowboy cookies and coffee cakes will be in abundance. There will be a few more plates that she will be setting for Sunday dinners. Acceptance, forgiveness, love and laughter are guaranteed. The biggest bonus is an all exclusive family reunion where she will be reunited with her beloved husband and the rest of her family and friends who she hasn't seen in a very long time. She has left detailed instructions with her daughter Cindy, and grandchildren to celebrate her life as her mission here is now complete.

We want to let her know that she did a great job and wish her a safe journey. We will remember her smile, her funny sense of humor, and her love of God, family and friends.

Funeral services were held in San Antonio, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 pm, Thursday, July 7, 2015 in Mishler Funeral Home, 2030 St. Rd. 331, Bremen.
