Joyce Avalos

Joyce Avalos, 75, of Leesburg, went home to be with her Lord on May 20, 2015 at Kosciusko County Hospital, Warsaw, IN. She was born October 18, 1939 in West Prestonsburg, Kentucky to John Morgan and Eva (England) Slone. Joyce married Jesse Avalos on October 14, 1972; he survives. Joyce worked at Flexsteel Industries for over 23 years and was a member of the Word of Truth Ministries Church in Milford. Joyce is survived by her husband; a daughter, Carolyn (Felipe Jr.) Flores of Warsaw, IN; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Moran, Jeremy (Tara) Flores, Heather (Marcus) Davis, Veronica (Ambrotin) Arnold, Jose Patino Jr., Nikki Stone, Amy Ousley, and Ron (Tabby) Ousley Jr.; 20 great grandchildren,; and two brothers, Curtis Slone, Ohio, and Ernest Ray Slone, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents; three children, Loretta Ousley-King, Ronald Ousley, Donna Ousley; and two grandchildren, Eric Flores and Angela Moran. A funeral service will be held in Mrs. Avalos’s honor on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 2 PM at Word of Truth Ministries, 210 East Catherine Street, Milford, IN 46542 with Pastor Mike Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-2 PM prior to the funeral service at the church.
