Hester G. Landis, 96, of Indianapolis, formerly of Bremen met her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Westside Health Care. She was born on June 20, 1918 in Howesville, Indiana. Hester married Chester Landis December 20, 1941; he preceded her in death October 2, 2007. Hester was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bremen for over 50 years.
Hester is survived by a daughter, Deborah (Richard) Jeter of Indianapolis; a daughter-in-law, Maria Landis of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Troy (Wendee) Reed of Indianapolis, Matthew (Amber) Reed of Bremen, and Ryan (fiancé, Krista) Landis of Houston, TX; four great grandchildren, Evan, Carson, Franklin, Easton; two step grandchildren, Chris Jeter of Granger and Mimi (Jamie) Bilbrey of Chicago; a step great grandchild, Joely; and a brother, James F. (Jane) Allen of Lakeville.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Robert Lloyd Landis; and three siblings, Rex, Rita, and Charles.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen. Pastor Ben Hammond will officiate with burial following at the Bremen Cemetery.
Friends may call from 12:30 to 2 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Autism Society of America or the First Baptist Church of Bremen.
