Charles Edward Spencer

Charles Edward Spencer, 64, of Bremen passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. He was born to Luther and Viola Spencer in Jackson, Kentucky on February 7, 1950. In December of 1968 he married Jan Sumpter.

Charlie was the owner and operator of Spencer RV Sales and Service. He was a former member of Jaycees and the Bremen Masonic Lodge. In his spare time, he liked to tinker with old cars and ride his Honda. He also enjoyed horses and taking trips to Florida. Most of all, Charlie loved spending time with the pride and joy of his life, his children and grandchildren.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jan Spencer of Bremen; two children, Angela (Christopher) Reed and Brad (Kat) Spencer, both of Bremen; four grandchildren, Noah, Elijah, Mikalah, and Jesse; and five siblings, Cecil "Bill" Spencer, Opal Smith, Mabel Hicks, Maxine Trent, and Faye Wood.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jonah Reed; and seven siblings, Luther Spencer Jr., Ervine Spencer, Gene Spencer, William Spencer, Hazel Rose, Linda Mae Grant, and Mary Magdalene Spencer.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. Christopher Reed will officiate with burial following at the Bremen Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-8 pm on Friday, December 19, 2014 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Bremen VFW or the Bremen Lighting Ceremony Fund.
