Thelma May Kammerer

Thelma May Kammerer, 100, of Warsaw, formerly of Leesburg, passed away September 17, 2014 at Grace Village Retirement Community. She was born in Kosciusko County on February 21, 1914 to Ralph and Mary (Byrer) Tumbleson. She married Al Kammerer on October 19, 1956; he preceded her in death in 1992.

Thelma lived in Kosciusko County her entire life, graduating from Atwood High School. She was a homemaker as well as a cook for Leesburg School for many years. Thelma was a member of the Leesburg United Methodist Church, Leesburg Travelers Club and the Tri-Arts Club.

She is survived by two sons, Phillip (Marva) Kammerer of Muncie and Jerry (Cindy) Kammerer of Leesburg, 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, George "Jim" Coon, daughter, Georgia Bray, a great granddaughter, Shantel Miles, one sister, Ethel Vandermark and a brother Ralph Tumbleson.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford: Pastor Rob Seewald will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Milford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Leesburg United Methodist Church.
