Stanley E. (Speck) Laidig, 85 of Mishawaka, IN, passed away on
Friday, September 5, 2014 at 8:30 p.m. at Sprenger Nursing Care, Mishawaka, Indiana
He was born in Mishawaka, IN, on December 3, 1928. He graduated from Madison
Twp. School.
Stanley was married to Myrtle Mae (Weade) on November 8, 1947; they were married
66 years.
He worked for Bendix/Allied Signal for 35 years & was a Union Steward. He
enjoyed farming & playing Fast Pitch Softball for Bremen Cafe, Wagner Steel, & BK Club in the
1950's & 1960's.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Myrtle of Mishawaka, two daughters Rebecca (Jeff) Worley of
Phoenix, AZ and Lisa Laidig of Independence, MO, along with two sons Bruce (Karen) Laidig of Bremen & Jack (Diane) Laidig of Bremen.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tina (Jeremy) Rase, Liz (Jason) Burge, Brett Worley, Chene Worley, Brandon (Danielle) White, Sarah (Ben) Brady & Lizzy White. His great -
grandchildren are Nathan, Bryona, Brooklin, Braden, Isabelle & Oliver.
Stanley also leaves behind his siblings Jon (Sonja) Laidig of Marco Island, Fl, Phyllis Billman of Wakarusa, sister-in-law, Jo Laidig of Mishawaka, & Dwight (Sandy) Laidig of Plymouth.
A brother, L. Duane Laidig and brother-in-law, Richard Billman, preceded him in death as well as his parents John & Audrey Laidig.
There will be no viewing or service. There will be a private burial service at a later time.
Mishler Funeral Home is in charge.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Center for Hospice. The
family of Stanley Laidig wishes to thank the staff of Sprenger Nursing Care & the Center for
Hospice.
