Benjamin Bingham Sr

Benjamin Eli Bingham Sr., 62, of Elkhart passed away July 31, 2014 at Elkhart General Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born January 19, 1952 in Mishawaka to Norman and Eileen Bingham. He married Martha J. Smith on March 3, 2003; she preceded him in death on September 21, 2006.

Benjamin joined the United States Marine Corp and was honorably discharged. He was a skilled handyman who enjoyed working on cars and keeping busy. He was dedicated to his career of truck driving up until he could no longer drive due to his illness.

He is survived by a son, Benjamin (Matthew) Bingham, Jr. of Winona Lake, two daughters, Leaa (Aaron) Chew of Claypool, Erin (Camden) Woolett and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 pm, Sunday, August 10 at the First Apostolic Church in Mishawaka on 802 East Mishawaka Ave. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 4:00 pm.
