Doris Marie Fox, 79, of Niles, Michigan passed away Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. Doris was born on July 20, 1935 to Frank and Dorothy (Dicus) Winger in Mishawaka. Doris married Charles Fox on November 4, 1952 in Silver Lake, Indiana; he survives.
Doris attended Madison Township High School where she met and eventually married her husband of 61 years. She loved her family dearly and cherished spending time with them. She enjoyed puzzles and doing arts, crafts and tea parties with her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed spending time on the beach, and traveling the United States with her daughter, Pam. She also enjoyed shopping and an occasional trip to the casino. She and her husband were members of St Paul Lutheran Church in Woodland.
Doris is survived by her husband Charles of Niles, MI, three children, Pam (Marc) LaVine of Wyatt, Tom (Dennie) Fox of Shavehead Lake, MI, Lori (Dan) Roberts of Osceola; 11 grandchildren, Traycee, Tara, Brandi, Justin, Sarah, Mary, Jeremy, Evan, Tosha, Samantha, Delaney and four great grandchildren Brody, Wyatt, Micah, and Brielle. Also surviving are two brothers, Jim (Nancy) Winger of Warsaw and Frank (Barb) Winger, Jr. of Osceola.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Dorothy Winger, a son, Scott Allen Fox and a granddaughter, Trisha Dawn LaVine.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at St Paul Lutheran Church in Woodland; Pastor Karl Brenner will officiate the service, burial will follow at Bremen Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday at Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Diabetes Association or St Paul Lutheran Church.
