Julie Gaines

Julie Gaines, 57, of Bremen passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. She was born in Norwood, Massachusetts to Warren and Ruth (Schimmels) Vance the day before Valentine's Day in 1957, which may explain why she had such a big heart. After exploring her love of music at the Interlochen School of the Arts, Julie lovingly spent her time raising her children at home. When she wasn't playing bingo at Pla-Mor, she could often be found watching a good crime show or playing solitaire. Above all, Julie was a great friend that would always give a listening ear; she will be missed by many friends and loved ones. Julie attended the First Baptist Church.

Julie is survived by her husband, Michael Gaines; seven children, Angie (Jerry) Enders, Cathy (Bryce) Hershberger, Steven (Lynlee) May, John Robertson, Emily (Michael) Clinger, Michael Gaines, and Timothy Gaines; ten grandchildren, Elizabeth, Hannah, Isabelle, Austin, Kayla, Tiffiney, John, Nick, Ruth, and Marie; and three brothers, Ross, Steve, and Mark.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Bremen. Pastor Ben Hammond will officiate.

Friends may call from 11-1 on Saturday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Marshall County Humane Society in Julie's honor.
