Bertha Lavonne Moneyheffer

January 26, 1921 — June 18, 2014

Bertha LaVonne Moneyheffer, 93, of Milford passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Lakeland Healthcare and Rehabilitation. She was born January 26, 1921 to Orb and Ella (Brundage) Newcomer in Elkhart County. She married Delbert Moneyheffer on October 25, 1942 at the Union Center Church, he preceded her in death on April 7, 2006.

Bertha Graduated from New Paris High School in 1939. She was a homemaker and was employed at the Milford School as Cafeteria Manager for 27 years. She had also worked at Camp Mack for fifteen summers and served as a volunteer at Goshen Hospital for 22 years. She and her husband were long time deacons at the Bethel and Bethany Church of the Brethren, where she is now a member. She was also a member for several years of the Mellowaires singing group of Warsaw.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda (Henry) Miller and Sharon (Bob) Muhn both of Fort Wayne Sue Boyer of Milford, 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, husband, a daughter, Jeanne Hunsberger, a great grandson, Dustin Stephenson and five brothers.

Services will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, June 21 at Bethany Church of the Brethren in New Paris, Pastor Nelda Risden will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Union Center Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Bethany Church of the Brethren.
