Margaret Deloddere

November 13, 1919 — June 7, 2014

Margaret DeLoddere, 94, of Wakarusa passed away June 7, 2014 at her residence. She was born November 13, 1919 in Bremen to Fred and Bertha Weber. She married Wilfred R. DeLoddere on November 9, 1940; he preceded her in death on December 19, 1997.

Margaret's days as a farmer's wife were filled with hard work and especially caring for her children and grandchildren as well as working on the family farm. She was an excellent cook, baker and canner. She baked wonderful apple squares and was famous within the family for her bread. She passed on her bread making tradition by lovingly giving lessons to any grandchild who asked. She loved spending time with her family and would always welcome them with a spread of goodies, meats and cheeses; whether you were hungry or not.

She is survived by three daughters, Judy (Larry) Beehler of Bremen, Barbara (Dennis) Unrue of Bremen, Sharon (Jim) Little of Osceola, a son, Daniel (Jill) DeLoddere of Mishawaka, 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild with another great grandchild expected in November. Also surviving is her sister, Bert Verhaeghe of Bremen and her special niece, Millie Goff of Wakarusa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and three sisters.

Services will be at 1:30 PM, Monday, June 9, 2014 at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen with Father Bob Lengerich officiating. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery.

Visitation will be prior to the service on Monday from 11:00 Am to 1:30 PM.

Memorial contributions may be given to The Community Hospital of Bremen or the Center for Hospice.

The family would like to extend special thanks to her loving care giver, Amanda Proctor, Dr. Marker and the staff at the Community Hospital of Bremen.
