Donald R. Hesch, 84, of Bremen passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at home. He was born to Richard and Inez (Christman) Hesch on December 30, 1929 in Mishawaka. On October 14, 1950, he married Mary Lou Arch in Bremen. Donald graduated from Madison Township High School and went on to honorably serve his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Donald was a member of the Granger Community Church and the Bremen VFW. He loved sports, especially basketball, and enjoyed going to the "boat." Donald was a people person; he seemed to have a nickname for everyone.
Donald is survived by two sons, Philip (Pam) Hesch of Elkhart and Kurt (Colleen) Hesch of Bremen; a daughter, Amy (Barry) Beeson of Bremen; six grandchildren, Molly (Tom) Beeson Nunemaker of Bremen, Adam (Brittany) Hesch of Louisiana, Jason (Angela) Shidaker of Virginia, Susan (Robbie) Neimer of South Bend, Amy (Ren) Duclos of Elkhart, and Brittany (Micheal Seeley) Vazquez of Elkhart; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Duaine (Carolyn) Hesch and Jerry (Martha) Hesch.
He was preceded in death by his wife; two sisters, Betty Woodward and Joan Thomas; two brothers, Charles Hesch and Roger Hesch; and a grandson, Chad Beeson.
A graveside service will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Bremen Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice.
