Letha J. Atkins, 83, of Bremen passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the Community Hospital of Bremen. She was born in Hernshaw, West Virginia to Lonzy and Cecil (Kirk) Price on February 26, 1931. She married Lee Atkins in March of 1950. Letha was the owner of Gail Lynn’s in Bremen and she attended the Bremen Baptist Church. Letha enjoyed shopping, reading, and crossword puzzles. Her family remembers her as a great cook and a lover of gospel music.
Letha is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lee Atkins of Bremen; two children, Gail Atkins and P. Steven Atkins both of Bremen; two granddaughters, Melissa Wilson of Bremen and Jesi Atkins of Indianapolis; two great-granddaughters, Shaelyn Atkins and Alivia Wilson both of Bremen; two siblings, Vernon (Freda) Price and Lucille Price both of Marmet, WV; and a sister-in-law, Carol Price of Hernshaw, WV.
She was preceded in death by three siblings, Druzella Price, Emery Price, and Lonzy “Butch” Price.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Bremen Baptist Church. Pastor Ben Hammond will officiate and burial will take place in the Bremen Cemetery at a later date.
Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Bremen Baptist Church.
