Fern Marie Nettrour, 80, of Bremen passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 at IU Health Goshen Hospital. She was born to Hilbert and Marie (Kuhn) Seese on February 3, 1934 in Lakeville. Fern graduated from Lakeville High School with the class of 1952 and, on March 21, 1954, she married Harold Nettrour in the Woodland Lutheran Church. Fern was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Bremen and an active member of the church's Ladie's Circle. She was also a member of the Marshall County Farm Bureau Board and the Ladies of Bremen Bunco Club. Fern was a true farmer's wife; she could milk cows and drive a tractor, and she won Grand Champion in the Marshall County 4-H canning competition. In addition to raising a family and working on the farm, Fern also worked at CVS pharmacy for several years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and traveling on bus tours. Fern's family will forever remember her as a great wife, mom, and grandma.
Fern is survived by her husband, Harold Nettrour of Bremen; three children, Cheryl (Joe) Ervin, Dean Nettrour, and Craig (Kim) Nettrour all of Bremen; two grandsons, Austyn and Gage Nettrour; and two siblings, Dale (Barbara) Seese of Plymouth and Carolyn (Dave) Nowakowski of Granger.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Loren Seese.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bremen. Pastor Neil Wonnacott will officiate with burial following in the Bremen Cemetery.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church and from 3-7 PM on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
Memorial contributions may be given to Community Hospital of Bremen, St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Bremen, or donor's choice.
