Betty Stayton

Betty J. Stayton, age 79, of Bremen passed away January 12, 2014. She was born August 11, 1934 in Montgomery, MI to the late Forrest F. Luse and Tressie (Higbee) Luse. She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Stayton, a former Chief of Police of Bremen.

Betty worked as a first grade teacher for many years in both Washington Elementary in Plymouth and Bremen Elementary where she eventually retired from.

She is survived by her four children, Sue A. (Paul) Wierbonics of Plymouth, John D. (Laura) Stayton of Bourbon, Jeffery D. Stayton of Bremen, Diane K. (Dean) Sherk of Lakeville, and one brother Dean Luse of Bremen. Also surviving are her six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A graveside service officiated by Rev. Neil Wonnacott will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 1:30 in the Bremen Cemetery chapel. Friends may visit at the chapel one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Bremen.
