Bruce Rogers Jr., 84, of Milford, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 at his residence. He was born on July 31, 1929 in Elkhart County to Bruce Sr. and Mary (Fox) Rogers. He married Maxine Pease on July 31, 1950; she survives.
Bruce worked for several years in the mobile home industry and CTB Inc. before opening Rogers Sanitation where he worked until his retirement. He was an avid train memorabilia collector and enjoyed going to farm and steam engine shows. He enjoyed working outside in the garage tinkering on things and could be found at the local coffee shop setting with the guys sharing stories.
He is survived by his wife of 63 yrs Maxine, a son, Tim (Cindy) Rogers of Warsaw, three daughters, Sharon (Dennis) Heminger of Elkhart, Doris Rogers of Elkhart, Sue (Doug) Johnson of Milford, 18 grandchildren, and 24 great-grand children. Also surviving are two brothers, Charles (Delores) Rogers of Sebring, Florida, Loyal (Dorothy) Rogers of New Paris; two sisters, Mary Matthews of New Paris and Marjorie Kirkdoffer of Elkhart.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, two children, Bruce and Dale Rogers and a sister, Dorothy Watkins.
A celebration of life will be at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Mishler Funeral Home, Milord, Pastor Jesse Beer will officiate. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of donor's choice.
