Charles "Doug" Stanifer

Charles "Doug" Stanifer, 68, of Bremen passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at home. He was born on October 21, 1944 to Jack and Bertha (Cochran) Stanifer in Bremen. Doug honorably served his country in the US Army during Vietnam and later his community as a police officer for the town of Bremen. He was a member of the Bremen VFW, the Bremen Conservation Club, and the Indiana Wildlife Federation.

Doug is survived by two sons, Jeff (Nicole) Stanifer of Mishawaka and Jack (Katie) Stanifer of Plymouth, as well as four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, George; and two sisters, Jackie and Pat.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 11 AM at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. Pastor Neil Wonnacott will officiate with burial following in the Bremen Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-8 PM on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to Heartland Hospice.
