Kathryn Koontz

Kathryn Koontz, 92, of Bremen passed away on August 15, 2013 at Miller's Merry Manor in Wakarusa. She was born June 25, 1921 in Bremen to Milo and Roberta (Grose) Kuntz. She married Warren Koontz on June 1, 1942; he passed away in August of 2010. Kathryn graduated with the Bremen High School class of 1940. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary and Grace United Methodist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Alice (Michael) Henning of Bremen, Susan (Dan) Barr of Bremen, and Melissa (Tim) Maas of Edwardsville, IL; a son, Robert (Nancy) Koontz of Bremen; eight grand children; twelve great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Ruth (Casey) Wise of Bremen.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 68 years; two sisters, Lillie Hall and Theda Kuntz; and a brother, Tommy Milo Kuntz.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Monday, August 19, 2013 at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen with Pastor Neil Wonnacott officiating. Burial will follow in the Bremen Cemetery.

Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.

Memorial contributions may be given to the National Humane Society.
