Nancy Slavey

Nancy R. Slavey, 73, of Bremen passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at IU Health Goshen. She was born to Reinert and Doris (Chase) Husmann on June 13, 1940 in LaCrosse, WI. Nancy graduated from Valparaiso High School with the class of 1958. She went on to work for 1st Source Bank for 18 years and later Nisco for 13 years. She also enjoyed antiquing and spending time with her grandkids.

Nancy is survived by two sons, Thomas (Betty) Slavey of Nappanee and Jeffrey Slavey of Bremen; five grandchildren, Alé, Shane, Alexis, Brayden, and Khloe; a sister, Karen (Walt) Meyer of New Bern, NC; and two brothers, Bill (Joyce) Husmann of Union City and John Husmann of Long Beach, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Joan Miskell.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bremen at 10:30 AM. Pastor Roger Rohde will officiate with burial following in the Bremen Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-5 PM on Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Alter Guild or to the Goshen Center for Cancer Care Research.
