Ethel Bowser

Ethel Marie Bowser, 90, of Bremen passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Bremen Healthcare. She was born December 9, 1922 in Wabash County to Ernest and Ruth (Hettler) Brooks. Ethel married Oren Bowser on November 27, 1948 who preceded her in death on April 26, 1994.

Ethel was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, traveling, china painting and the many activities at Bremen Healthcare. She enjoyed spending many winters in Terra Ceia, Florida. She was a former member of the Cedar Road Missionary Church in Osceola and the Grace United Methodist Church in Bremen. Ethel had a contagious smile and was a joy to be around. She loved her family and was a good friend to all.

She is survived by a daughter Beverly (Leon) Shalliol of Wyatt, two granddaughters, Kristi (Bruce) Ostrowski of Nappanee, Debra (Bruce) Schmidt of Bremen, four great-grandchildren, Craig and Valerie Ostrowski and Claire and Riley Schmidt. Also surviving is a sister Nadine Rogers of Lawrence, MI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three sisters, Violet Kern, Colleen Konkle and Polly Ann Childs.

Services will be 12:00 pm Tuesday, February 12 at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen; Pastor Neil Wonnacott will officiate the service. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Make a Wish Foundation or to the South Bend Memorial Pediatric Oncology Department in care of Mishler Funeral Home.
