Barbara Place passed away on January 11, 2013 at Greencroft Gables due to complications of a broken hip.

Barbara was born May 20, 1937 in Milford to Noble and Hazel (Adams) Johnson. On April 20, 1957 she married Alfred Place who preceded her in death on March 12, 1973.

Survivors include daughters Pamela (Kevin) Dwyer of Milford, Lisa (Pat) Hare of Goshen, and one grandson Justin Hare of Lebanon, NH, as well as a special family friend Dr. Daniel Herrick of Lebanon, NH; two brothers, Darrel Johnson of Arizona, Kenny (Shirley) Johnson of Syracuse and a sister Carolyn Welker of Milford and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Noble and Hazel Johnson.

Barbara was a dedicated homemaker and mother. She loved spending time with her family and especially happy to reconnect with her sister after a lengthy time apart. In her spare time she loved to read all types of books, watch old western television shows, traveling West in her early life was memorable for which she talked about often.

Services will be at 5:00 PM. Monday, January 14th Mishler Funeral Home, Milford with Pastor Harlan Steffen officiating. Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Donations in Barbara's memory may be directed to Goshen Home Care and Hospice, Greencoft Foundation or to the Milford Public Library.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the following individuals at Greencroft: Kerry, Cindy, Michelle, Diantha, Kristie, Jana, Fannie, Brandi, Kim, Angie, Sarah, Rose, Ruth, Lisa, Nancy, Delia and everyone else who so kindly and patiently worked with our mother. In addition, Rachel, Jennifer and Chris from Goshen Hospice, your kindness will be remembered fondly. You are truly God's angels here on earth.
