Duane Worthington, 85, formerly of Bremen passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Miller's Merry Manor in Wakarusa. He was born on July 8, 1927 to Walter and Lucille (Smith) Worthington in Butler, Indiana. On November 15, 1947 he married Mary Jane Oliver in Bryan, Ohio.
After attending school in Ohio, Duane served his country in the Navy during WWII. He worked for McCormick's in Bremen as a maintenance supervisor. Duane was a member of the American Legion of Bryan, Ohio, the Bremen United Methodist Church, and the Bremen Lion's Club.
Duane is survived by his wife Mary Jane; a daughter, Sue (Jon) Ready of Sun City, AZ; a son, Joel (Jolene) Worthington of Bourbon; four grandchildren, Rachael Phillips of St. Louis, MO, Nathan (Sarah) Phillips of Grand Rapids, MI, Meghan (Chad) Huff of Plymouth, and Kaylin Worthington of Bourbon; and a sister, Peggy Schoeneman of Eljay, GA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Blaine Worthington.
A funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Bremen United Methodist Church. Pastor Chuck Krieg will officiate the service.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Bremen United Methodist Church or the American Parkinson Disease Association.
