Albert Godbold

Albert R. "Buster" Godbold, 86, of Bremen passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012 at his home. He was born on November 30, 1925 to Louie and Cora Marie (Taylor) Godbold in Indianapolis. Al married his first wife,Vivian June Peters, and she passed in 1971. He later married Alice Dziagwa on October 13, 1972. After 35 years of marriage, she preceded him in death on May 5, 2006.

Al was very proud to have honorably served his country during WWII in the US Army. He was a lifetime member of the Bremen VFW and American Legion. He was also a member of the Bremen First Baptist Church. Al was a family man, and loved to visit his children and grandchildren. He could often be found woodworking or enjoying a cup of coffee at the local McDonald's.

Al is survived by three sons, Lawrence (Rose) Godbold of Watseka, IL, Ronald (Cindy) Godbold of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and Glenn (Imelda) Godbold of Bremen; a daughter, Patricia Marciniak of IL; six step-children, Michael (Sue) Krantz of Bremen, Nicholas Krantz of IL, Gloria Servin of Lake Station, IN, Conrad Krantz of Bremen, Deborah (Rick) Szromba of Beecher, IL, Pamela Anguiano of Dyer, IN; 10 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Marie, Evelynn, Jeanie, Faye, and Linda.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother James "Bug", and a sister Angie.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the Mishler Funeral Home in Bremen at 3:00. Pastor Ben Hammond will officiate with burial following at the Bremen Cemetery.

Friends may call from noon to 3:00 at the funeral home on Thursday.
