Lois E. Joslin, 100, of Bremen, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at the Bremen Health Care Center. She was born on August 27, 1912 to Otto and Ida (Reed) Cramer in Marshall County.
Lois attended Lapaz High School, where she met Orville Guard. The two married and they raised two sons, Don and Ralph, on their family farm. Later, after Orville's passing, Lois moved to Lake of the Woods and found employment with The Doghouse Restaurant and Lakeshore Grocery Store. She went on to work for Harvey's Dimestore in Plymouth for 8 years, and later retired from Ristance after 14 years. After retiring, she moved to Nappanee, and then moved to Lapaz for a few short years. She lived in Bremen for the last 19 years.
Lois is survived by her son, Donald Guard of Oregon; three grandsons, David (Patricia) Guard, Richard (Judy) Guard, and Roger (Shelly) Guard; five granddaughters, Pamela (Michael) Kay, Janet (Nick) Buell, Carol (Richard) Cartwright, Cheryl (Gean) Smirl, and April Samuels; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
Lois was preceded in death by her husbands, Orville Guard, Charles Price, and Leo Joslin; a son, Ralph Guard; and two grandsons, Rocky Guard and Robin Guard.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at11 AM at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. Burial will follow in the Bremen Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 AM on Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Bremen Church of God.
