Charles "Chuck" J. Weldy

Charles "Chuck" J. Weldy, 83, of Bremen, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012 at home. He was born on October 20, 1928 to Irvin and Lola (Pittman) Weldy in Bremen. He married Lorene Spohn in South Bend on December 31, 1953.

Charles honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1948 to 1951. He retired from Bendix in South Bend, where he worked many years. Charles was a member of the Bremen VFW.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lorene of Bremen; two sons, Joseph (Jean) Weldy of South Bend and Dean (Christie) Weldy of Bremen; a daughter, Sharon Logan of Bremen; a stepson, Terry Coplen of Bremen; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Blanche Urednick and Eva Hawkins both of Bremen; and three brothers, Arvin Weldy, Clifford Weldy, and Cleo (June) Weldy all of Bremen.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and eleven brothers and sisters.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. Chaplain Tom Padburg will officiate with burial following in the Bremen Cemetery.

Friends may call on Monday, October 22, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
