Kenneth D. Erickson

Kenneth Dale Erickson, 88, of Elkhart, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Elkhart Hospice House. He was born on January 5, 1924 to Earl and Mildred (New) Erickson in Gary, Indiana.

Ken honorably served his country in the United States Army during WWII in the 735th Tank Battalion. On February 4, 1979, he married Priscilla Davis. Ken worked as a foreman at the Coke Plant, US Steel and was a member of the Portage American Legion. He attended New Life Christian Center where he confessed Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He loved spending time with family, telling stories and sharing humor. He loved golf, playing piano, drawing, dancing, and fishing.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 34 years, Priscilla; two sons, Keith (Christine) Erickson of Bremen and Robert Erickson of Plymouth; a daughter, Kathleen (Dennis) Neff of Goshen; four step-children; twelve grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kenneth; and a brother, Robert.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 6, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. Pastor Dwight Gosser will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at the Bremen Cemetery.

Friends may call Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 4-6 PM and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
