Luella "Polly" A. Anderson

Luella "Polly" A. Anderson, 86, of Bremen, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012 at IU Health Goshen. She was born on December 14, 1925 to Nelson and Lula (Reese) Marks in Plymouth. Luella married Paul E. Miller on January 25, 1945 in Bremen; he passed away on December 10, 1986. She later married James Anderson on May 18, 1991 at the Salem United Methodist Church in Bremen; he survives.

Polly graduated from LaPaz High School in 1943 and went on to attend beauty school in South Bend. She worked as a beautician until she had children. After her children were in school, she re-entered the work force at an office job with Bowser Sand and Gravel. In 1986 she retired from United Telephone. Polly was a member of the Bremen United Methodist Church and the Win-A-Couple Sunday School Class for over 60 years. She was also a member of the Salem Campers and the Town and Country Home Ec Club. She was active in the local pinochle club and involved in 4H.

Luella is survived by her husband, James Anderson of Bremen; a son, Mark E. Miller of South Bend; a daughter, Diann R. Parsons of Plymouth; three granddaughters, Christine (Brian) Hides of Lake Bluff, IL, Tracy Voreis (Andrew Dabasinskas) of Centennial, CO, and Mary Beckworth of Silver City, NM; a grandson, Alexander Demkovich (Elise Daxe) of Chesterson, IN; a step-daughter, Judy (Denny) Redman of Bremen; a step-son, Fred (Laura) Anderson of Bremen; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Harley of Argos, Ellen Samuels of Plymouth, and Janet (Joe) Mankowski of South Bend; and two brothers, Eldon (Diana) Marks of Fresno, CA and Paul Jay (Cissy) Marks of Baltimore, MD.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Marsha and Debra; four sisters, Madelyne, Marjorie, Betty, and Kathleen; and two brothers, Glen and Nelson.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Bremen United Methodist Church. Pastor Jeff Smith will officiate with burial following in the Bremen Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 PM on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen.
